Iconography
Axe Auditor employs the use of several graphical icons that have significant meaning. Most should be self-explanatory and familiar to experienced users of web-based software. It is important for you to have an understanding of what each represents.

External Link indicator (arrow pointing upward & to the right within a box): Appears after blue, underlined text to indicate a hyperlink to a document, website, or resource that is external to the application (such as online Deque University training materials).

Help Button (dark Question mark symbol w/ white background): Represents a button that, when clicked, causes helpful information to display - such as the axe Auditor User Guide in Deque University (this document!).

Failure or Not Connected indicator (white "X" letter w/ red background): Typically followed by a failure message or used to indicate a test browser is not currently connected.

Success or Connected indicator (white Checkmark w/ green background): Typically followed by a success confirmation message or used to indicate a connected browser connection state.

More Information button (white letter "i" with blue background in circle): Represents an actionable button that causes a popup window to display a tooltip, field description, or more information about the element after which the icon appears.

Issue or Caution indicator (white letter "i" with yellow background in circle): Indicates a cautionary alert, followed by the alert message text itself, or it can indicate that an issue has been entered against a checkpoint test.

Not Applicable indicator (white dash symbol on grey background in circle): Indicates the N/A status (Not Applicable) of a checkpoint test.

Flagged for Review indicator (red flag icon): Represents a checkpoint that has been flagged for review with an optional comment entered, or it can be used with a label on a Flag for Review button to indicate the action command to initiate the flagging of a checkpoint for review.

Sight Required indicator (black human eye against white background): Indicates sight is a required sense for the checkpoint test.
