Understanding the Resources Worksheet

The Resources sheet has two main sections of information - WCAG 2.0 and Deque Checkpoints. Each provides the unique identifier, a link to more information, and a brief name. Additionally, the WCAG listing table displays success criteria categories and levels, and the Checkpoints display the impact. This sheet is intended to serve as a condensed quick reference to key resources used in manual testing, with handy links to more detailed information, all of which can be used in interpreting and understanding data displayed in other sheets of the axe Auditor Executive Report.

Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.0

This section contains a table with the following columns of information:

• W3C Link: Click to view the details (intent, examples, related resources, key terms, techniques & failures) associated with this Success Criteria (SC) on the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C)'s Understanding WCAG 2.0 site.
• WCAG SC Description: The unique numeric identifier and textual name of the Success Criteria (SC) within the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines.
• Level: The WCAG level of conformance is displayed (either A, AA, or AAA).

Deque Checkpoints

This section contains a table with the following columns of information:

• SC: The unique numeric identifier of the Deque Way Success Criteria (SC) is displayed, followed by the WCAG level in parentheses.
• Short Name: Click to view complete details about the checkpoint (testing methodology, mobile, assistive technology, related techniques, best practices, etc.) in The Deque Way: A11y Testing & Reporting course in Deque University.
• Requirement: A paragraph that describes the checkpoint requirement, typically written with SHOULD, MUST and/or MAY statements.
• Default Impact: Critical, Serious, or Moderate is displayed to indicate the impact on accessibility when not met.
