Rule
Users MUST be able to adjust the time that temporary content is displayed on the screen.
Background
People with disabilities such as blindness, low vision, mobility impairments, and cognitive limitations may require more time to find and read content. If content is only displayed for a short length of time, it may be difficult or impossible for some users to find and read the content. Giving people the ability to adjust the time content is displayed helps ensure that they can successfully find and read it.
How to Fix
Fix this issue by doing ONE of the following:
- Leave the content on the screen until dismissed by the user.
- Allow the user to adjust the amount of time temporary content is displayed on the screen, up to 10 times the default.
