Rule

A feedback mechanism MUST be provided through the Accessibility Statement so people can report any accessibility barriers they may encounter and request accessible alternatives.

Background

The Web Accessibility Directive requires that all public body websites and mobile applications provide a mechanism for people to report accessibility issues and to request alternative formats for inaccessible content. A description of the feedback mechanism and a link to the feedback mechanism must be included in the Accessibility Statement for the content. The feedback mechanism is useful for users and also for public sector bodies as it enables them to get useful information to address issues on their website or app.

How to Fix

Fix this issue by providing a feedback mechanism that meets the following requirements:

  1. A description of and a link to the feedback mechanism is provided in the Accessibility Statement.
  2. The feedback mechanism allows people to report accessibility issues and to request alternative formats for inaccessible content.
