Managing User Accounts
The Users page allows the System Administrator to:
- Create, view, and delete users
- Activate and deactivate user accounts
- Edit information about a user, including their password
When the system has no users and is configured with an Active Directory connection, the following text will display: "There are no users within the system. Import from Active Directory." Select the Import from Active Directory link to display a modal dialog that will allow the System Administrator to search for and add users to axe Monitor.
The Import from Active Directory modal dialog provides the following options:
- Search: Enter text to search for existing Active Directory users.
- Select Users: Select the checkbox next to individual Active Directory users or select the Select all link to select all Active Directory users.
Select the Import button to create axe Monitor accounts for the imported users.
When the system has no users and is NOT configured with an Active Directory connection, the following text will display: "There are no users within the system. Create a user." Select the Create a user link to link to the Create User page.
When the system has existing users, the User Management page lists every user registered in the axe Monitor instance.
For each user the following is provided:
- Full Name
- Actions: Edit and Delete
Select the Edit link to edit the user's information.
Select the Delete link to delete a user. A dialog with the following warning will appear: "Deleting a user removes them from the system, deletes their projects (if any), and prevents them from accessing axe Monitor. Are you sure you want to delete this user and their projects?" Select the Delete button to confirm the deletion.
If the user selected for deletion is the ONLY administrator of a Project, a modal dialog will provide a warning and the ability to reassign the Project to the Organization Administrator or one of the Organization Administrators. Select the Delete button to reassign the Project(s) and delete the user.
If the user selected for deletion is the ONLY administrator of an Organization, a modal dialog will provide a warning and the ability to reassign the Organization to another user. Select the Delete button to reassign the Project(s) and delete the user.
An alternative to deleting a user is to deactivate their account through the Edit User page. When you deactivate a user account, the user will no longer be able to access axe Monitor, but can be reactivated at a later time.
