Scheduling a Scan
The Schedule Scan page enables project administrators to schedule scans to run automatically at a time and frequency that you choose. This is useful for enabling regular cleanup of scanned information and set re-scanning intervals, all the while monitoring the health of a system.
To schedule a scan, use the Schedule link in the Action column against the scan name. This displays the Schedule Scan page for the scan you want to schedule.

Using the Scan Scedule Page
By default, the page displays the settings for scanning the scheduler frequency manually.
Scan Frequency: You can set the scan schedule based on the frenquency. The frequency you choose from are manually, daily, weekly, hourly, monthly, monthly (specific day), and monthly (days of the week).
When the scheduled scan runs, the data in the Project Dashboard is updated automatically. The trend graph at the top of the Project Dashboard as well as the Organization Dashboard is also updated each time the scan runs.
Scheduling the Scan Manually
Use the Manually option to schedule the scan manually. Follow the given steps to schedule the scan manually:
- Scan Frequency: Select Manually to schedule the scan to run manually.
- Scan Summary: The summary is auto-filled based on the options you select. Optionally, you can enter a summary.
- Use the Save button to save the schedule..
Scheduling the Scan Monthly on a Specific Day
Use the Monthly (Specific Day) option to schedule the scan on a specific day of the month. Follow the given steps to schedule the scan monthly:
- Scan Frequency: Select Monthly (Specific Day) to schedule the scan to run on a specific day of the month.
- Start Date: Enter the start date for the scheduler to start.
- No End Date: Select the checkbox
to repeat the schedule indefinitely. Selecting this checkbox disables the End Date field.5. End Date: Enter the end date for the scheduler to stop. 6. Specific Day: Select the day from the dropdown menu on which the scheduler must run. 7. Scan Summary: The summary is auto-filled based on the options you select. Optionally, you can enter a summary. 8. Additional Options:
- Stop scan if exceeds: Select the checkbox to stop the scan if it exceeds the specified time. This is useful in cases when the scan hangs for some reason, such as in the case of an infinitely redirecting URL where the scan stops running.
- Terminate this scan after: Select the checkbox to stop the scan if it runs more than the number of occurences specified by you. This is used when you want to run the scheduler specified number of times instead of specifying an end date.
- Use the Save button to save the schedule.
Scheduling the Scan Monthly on Specific Days of the Week
Use the Monthly (days of the week) option to schedule the scan a day of the week in the first, second, third or fourth week of the month. Follow the given steps to schedule the scan monthly:
- Scan Frequency: Select Monthly (days of the week) to schedule the scan to run on a day of the week in the first, second, third or fourth week of the month.
- Start Date: Enter the start date for the scheduler to start.
- No End Date: Select the checkbox
to repeat the schedule indefinitely. Selecting this checkbox disables the End Date field.5. End Date: Enter the end date for the scheduler to stop. 6. Scan Every: Select from the dropdown menu the options, first, second, third, fourth, or last on which the scheduler must run. 7. Day of Week: Select the day of the week from the dropdown menu on which the scheduler must run. 8. Scan Summary: The summary is auto-filled based on the options you select. Optionally, you can enter a summary. 9. Additional Options:

Scheduling the Scan Hourly
Use the Hourly option to schedule the scan to run every hour of the day, or one or more specific hours. Follow the given steps to schedule the scan hourly:
- Scan Frequency: Select Hourly to schedule the scan to run every hour of the day, or one or more specific hours.
- Start Date: Enter the start date for the scheduler to start.
- No End Date: Select the checkbox
to repeat the schedule indefinitely. Selecting this checkbox disables the End Date field.5. End Date: Enter the end date for the scheduler to stop. 6. Scan Summary: The summary is auto-filled based on the options you select. Optionally, you can enter a summary. 7. Additional Options:

Scheduling the Scan Daily
Use the Daily option to schedule the scan to run every day of the month, or one or more specific days each month. Follow the given steps to schedule the scan daily:
- Scan Frequency: Select Hourly to schedule the scan to run every day of the month, or one or more specific days each month.
- Start Date: Enter the start date for the scheduler to start.
- No End Date: Select the checkbox
to repeat the schedule indefinitely. Selecting this checkbox disables the End Date field.5. End Date: Enter the end date for the scheduler to stop. 6. Start Time: Enter the time for the scheduler to start everyday. Use the 12-hour format, and select from the options AM or PM to decide the period of day. 7. Scan Summary: The summary is auto-filled based on the options you select. Optionally, you can enter a summary. 8. Additional Options:

- Scan Frequency: Select Weekly to schedule the scan to run every day of the week, or one or more specific days each week.
- Start Date: Enter the start date for the scheduler to start.
- No End Date: Select the checkbox
to repeat the schedule indefinitely. Selecting this checkbox disables the End Date field.5. End Date: Enter the end date for the scheduler to stop. 6. Start Time: Enter the time for the scheduler to start everyday. Use the 12-hour format, and select from the options AM or PM to decide the period of day. 7.
