Deactivating a Standard
When you want to make a currently-active standard inactive, follow this procedure. Rather than deleting a testing standard entirely, you can make it inactive in order to preserve it for future re-use. Deactivated standards cannot be used for projects in the associated organization, but can be activated again at a later time. After being deactivated, a testing standard (rule set) cannot be edited, made default, or chosen at the project level.
To deactivate a standard:
- In the Actions column of the Active Standards table, click the Deactivate link within the row of the standard you want to deactivate.
Depending on your settings and selection, a confirmation prompt appears in a pop-up window (for example, one that reads, "You have chosen to deactivate the WCAG 2.0 Level AA standard. Deactivated standards cannot be used for projects in this organization. You can activate it again later.").
- At the confirmation prompt, click the Deactivate Standard button (or Cancel if unsure).
The prompt popup closes and the row is both removed from the Active Standards table and added to the Inactive Standards section table.
