Axe Monitor allows Organization Administrators use the Testing Standards Organization Settings page to add standards (rule sets), and to specify whether or not to allow the default standard to be changed on individual projects in the organization. Additionally, they can view both the Current Default (Active) Standards and the Inactive Standards (which can't be edited, made default, or chosen at the project level).

The Organization Testing Standards page is made up of the following 11 components:

  1. Add Standard button: Use this to create a new standard based on an axe DevTools ruleset version. For complete instructions, see Adding a Standard.
  2. Project-level default standard change capability checkbox: For complete details, see the Allowing project-level default standard changing section below on this page.
  3. Default table column: Only one radio button option may be selected at any given time to indicate the default (prior to selecting and saving a different option). For more information, see Changing the Default Standard.
  4. Name table column: The first line displays the friendly name for the ruleset in bold, and the second line displays whether or not it is a stock or custom type.
  5. Options table column: Either Best Practice, Experimental or both may be checked to indicate the type(s) of rules that are included/excluded as appropriate.
  6. Axe DevTools Version table column: The release version of the Deque Tools ruleset(s) available for use.
  7. Projects Using table column: A numeric value for each is displayed to represent the number of projects currently in the system using this ruleset standard.
  8. Deactivate Actions column link: Make the standard inactive, yet available for future re-activation without deleting. For more information, see Deactivating a Standard.
  9. Delete Actions column link: Permanently remove the standard from the system when it will never be needed again. For more information, see Deleting a Standard.
  10. Save Default button: After selecting an option row in the Default column other than the current default option, click this to activate it as the new default. For more information, see Changing the Default Standard.
  11. Inactive Standards table section: Note: This section is collapsed by default. When inactive standards exist, click the right arrow to the left of the # display in the section heading to expand the section table contents below. Inactive standards may either be activated or deleted. For more information about each, see Activating an Inactive Standard and Deleting a Standard, respectively.

Allowing project-level default standard changing

The implications here are just as you'd expect: checking this checkbox means individual projects within the organization will be able to change the default.

To prevent project-level default standard changing capability:

Click within the checked checkbox to clear (and deselect) the 'Allow the default standard to be changed on individual projects in this organization' option.

A system response message appears to confirm success of the setting change you made at the top, left of the page.
