Deque University Support
Settings
The settings described below are not yet available in the Admin Dashboard, but they can still be set by contacting training@deque.com and communicating your preferences. These settings are organization-wide and will apply to all users in your Deque University account.
Axe Assistant On/Off
Axe Assistant is an AI large language model (LLM) chat feature, purpose-built to provide accessibility guidance. It draws on the vast knowledge stored in Deque University, and can answer accessibility questions, provide accessibility feedback on HTML markup, generate accessible markup, and perform other accessibility-related tasks.
The Axe Assistant settings available are:
- On (Default): All users within your organization can use Axe Assistant
- Off: None of the users within your organization can use Axe Assistant
The most common reason why an organization might want to turn off Axe Assistant is when the organization has a strict "no AI" or "no LLM" policy, which may be based in security or privacy concerns.
Note: Deque does NOT use user-supplied data to train Axe Assistant, and Deque does NOT share user-supplied data with third parties, with other Deque clients, nor with other Axe Assistant users.
Custom Welcome Message
An organization has the option to include a brief client-specific welcome message above the list of courses on the "My Courses" page.
The custom welcome message settings available are:
- On: All users in your organization will see the message
- Off (Default): No custom welcome message is specified
Possible use cases for this type of message can include:
- The names and contact info of the organization's central accessibility team
- A link to the organization's accessibility policy, or other accessibility-related information
- Instructions or information related to learner tasks, such as an upcoming deadline
Note 1: If the message is longer than a few lines of text, you can request to make all or part of the welcome message collapsible, for a better user experience.
Note 2: A Deque team member must set up this message for you, so you should allow at least 2 business days before expecting the message to show on the site. Also, you should not plan to change this message frequently.
