Additional Configuration
Code Snippets
Axe Account admins can control whether axe Monitor saves results with selectors, element source code, and page content.
This setting may be used in rare cases where you want to need a higher level of security. Deque recommends keeping this setting turned on to better understand and prioritize accessibility issues.
Disabling Code Snippets
- If you are an axe Account admin, log in at axe.deque.com.
- Select Configuration in the navigation menu.
- Select the panel for axe Monitor.
- Select the radio button Off to disable code snippets system-wide.
Turning this setting off system-wide will restrict users’ access to information in selectors, source code, and page content. This will limit their ability to fix accessibility issues.
When this setting is turned off, future scan runs will not save selectors (element locations) and source code for issues, and page content will not be saved.
Permissions Settings
In the axe Monitor Admin section, axe Monitor admins can manage which roles can create new scans. By default, all axe Monitor users who belong to a team and have access to at least one scan in the system can create new scans.
Axe Monitor admins may uncheck the options in Permissions Settings to prevent users who are a scan member or scan viewer from creating scans. When the options are unchecked, the “+ New Scan” button will no longer appear on the Scans page for applicable users.
Example scenario for users with multiple roles
- “Allow scan members to create scans” is unchecked for the axe Monitor instance.
- User John Smith belongs to a team with “Scan Member” permissions on the “Public Website” scan
- John also belongs to a team with “Scan Admin” permissions on the “Intranet” scan.
- John Smith will not be able to create new scans, because he is a scan member on at least one scan in the system.
