Screen vs. Page Terminology

The use of the word "page" can mean different things when using axe Auditor (and when using this documentation as a tool). When you are familiar with modern web-based software applications, this should be easy for you to understand. To eliminate confusion and clarify the meaning, here are three examples of the types of pages that may be referred to both within axe Auditor itself and its accompanying documentation:

• Axe Auditor Screens: Pages within the axe Auditor user interface (such as those you can get to from the main menu) are referred to as "screens" in this documentation to differentiate them from the web "pages" of external web sites or applications that are being tested. Examples include Test Cases, Test Runs, and Issues.
• Testing Pages: Pages To Be Tested (pages under test or test browser pages and their associated URLs) are pages within a Test Case, and are not to be confused with the "pages" of the axe Auditor application screens. Multiple pages can be added to Test Cases that represent the individual page, component, or content within a test case that you want to test for accessibility, and these are specified with a Name and associated URL.
• Dynamic Table Pages: Nearly all tables in axe Auditor are paginated. Pages of information displayed in tables on single axe Auditor user interface screens are navigable via Show Number Of Records Per Page and Page # of # Navigation Buttons. Pages of information records displayed on a single "page" of the application (for example, the Test Cases page), can be controlled via the Show and << Page >> navigation buttons. Click 10, 25, 50 or 100 next to Show to display a maximum of that many records (table row results) on a single page. Clicking the << (first page), < (back one page), > (next page), or >> (last page) buttons function as page navigation controls that dynamically display numbered pages of information on the current axe Auditor page.
