Axe Developer Hub APIs
An overview of the REST APIs available for Axe Developer Hub
Not for use with personal data
Axe Developer Hub exposes a set of REST APIs you can call with your existing Axe Account API key: no separate credential is needed for any of them. Use them to gate CI/CD pipelines on accessibility status, retrieve accessibility results programmatically, and create, manage, and look up your projects.
Which API Do I Need?
| I want to... | Use... |
|---|---|
| Set up authentication, find a project ID, and make a first call | Get Started with the Axe Developer Hub APIs |
| Create and manage projects and their members, list your projects, or look up a project ID by name | Projects API Reference |
| Automate project creation and membership management, step by step | Get Started with Project Management Automation |
| Fail a pull request or commit when accessibility errors are found, from a non-GitHub CI/CD pipeline (GitLab, BitBucket, and similar) | Commit Status API Reference |
| Do the same from a GitHub pipeline | Use the GitHub Action instead of calling the REST API directly |
| Retrieve full accessibility results for a session, or list a project's sessions | Sessions and Results API Reference |
| Download a summary report the way older integrations do | Get Results Programmatically (Deprecated): migrate to the Sessions and Results API instead |
Authentication, at a Glance
Every API on this list authenticates the same way, with your Axe Account API key in an X-API-Key header. See Get Started with the Axe Developer Hub APIs to get a key, find your project ID, and make your first call.
