Update XCode
Not for use with personal data
If you already have Xcode installed, ensure you are using Xcode 15 or newer. If not, follow the update instructions to get the latest version.
Check your Xcode Version
- With Xcode open, choose Xcode > About Xcode to see the version.
- If you have Xcode 15 or newer installed, skip ahead to Verify Xcode Command Line Tools are installed.
- If your version is below Xcode 15, update Xcode following the steps below.
Update Xcode
Method 1: Through the App Store (Recommended)
- Open the App Store on your Mac.
- Click on your profile icon in the bottom left corner.
- Look for Xcode in the list of available updates.
- Click 'Update' next to Xcode if an update is available.
- Enter your Apple ID password or use Touch ID/Face ID when prompted.
Method 2: Through Xcode itself
- Previously, you opened XCode > About XCode to check the version.
- If an update is available, you will see that option to update.
- Follow the prompts to download and install.
